A much needed roof replacement project has started at Hillside. When taking into consideration the budget needed to run a shelter on the scale of the Hillside SPCA, an often over-looked factor is the large amount of funds from the budget that must go toward building maintenance and repairs. Keeping the animals in residence safe and secure, warm and dry, is a big part of what we do and the buildings and equipment we need to do that can cost a lot in the big scheme of things.
The funds for maintenance like this roof replacement project come from the General Fund of the shelter budget. As many of you know, the shelter is funded almost entirely from private donation from businesses and supporters like YOU. You make it possible for us to keep our doors open to the hundreds of animals a year that seek our protection, shelter…and love.
If you would like to contribute to the fund to “Keep the Roof Over Their Heads”, your gift would be greatly appreciated! To give online, simply visit our DONATE Page, choose General Fund, and make a secure donation to this project. Any size gift that your budget will allow makes a difference in the world of an animal in need. Please share this project with your family, friends, co-workers, employer and neighbors. This is a great chance to pool resources to make a donation to this much needed project.
Donations may also be mailed to: General Fund, Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901
Thank you for your support.
A huge shout out goes to Pioneer Pole Buildings and Roof Masters for starting our “Big Dog” quarters roof replacement project! These guys were at it all day and boy are we THANKFUL for it! It is definitely a long over due project and our “fur babies” are very excited too.
