Now named by the Hillside folks “Gourdo”, this older male un-neutered Pittie was brought in to the shelter by the county dog warden. He is as sweet as can be, but pathetically sad, confused and in pain. A large tumor on his back foot was making walking somewhat difficult.
Instantly put on pain medication, a follow through with the veterinarian revealed Gourdo’s tumor can be removed but will involve a toe amputation to remedy the problem properly. This procedure will come at the cost of $800.
Paid for through Joe and Caroline’s Spay/Neuter and Emergency Fund, we are able to help Gourdo live a better, pain-free life. Your support is directly responsible for keeping The Fund available for helping dogs in need like our buddy, Gourdo. You DO make a difference!!
If you would like to donate to The Fund to help Gourdo or to help us continue our work for animals in need, any gift of any size is deeply appreciated. You can donate easily and securely online or via snail mail at Joe & Caroline’s Fund, Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, Pa. 17901. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
UPDATE: October 17, 2017
Gourdo is back at the Hillside after his surgery. He thanks everyone for the well wishes. His toe was amputated and the tumor removed. We are hopeful he will be much more comfortable now that it has been removed. He was also neutered. Gourdo had his own personal “extreme edition doggie makeover”! He deserves to be pain free and feel the love. They all do.
Thanks to you and your support of Joe and Caroline’s Spay/Neuter and Emergency Fund, many more can be given the help they deserve than we could have ever hoped for in the past. Please take a moment and embrace the difference you have made in the lives of so many.
We are still accepting donations for Gourdo’s care and always grateful for donations of any size to The Fund. Donations can be made online or by mail to Joe and Caroline’s Spay/Neuter and Emergency Fund, c/o Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
Gourdo is now feeling the love and awaiting a new, forever home. If interested in meeting Gourdo, visit us 7 days a week, 11 am to 3 pm.
