It has only been a few days since Shelby has graced my life. As i sit here at work with her by my side( we can bring our dogs,it doesn't get better than this)I had to write and thank you again for bringing us together. I was not looking for another dog as I have 2 already but when Isaw that face, there was no turning back.
I would also like to compliment you on your facility and the people assocaited with it. The animals there are cared for and I would not be surprised if some would be sad to be adopted and leave their friends.
Thanks again for gracing my life with this four legged angel.

It's been a few weeks since I helped to adopt Shane, now named Toby. He's been a wonderful addition, and it's great fun to watch this 75 lb. dog playing with my miniature schnauzer.

We previously adopted Chance (now Vlad) from Hillside about 3 years ago. He is a great dog and we couldn't be happier. Him and our German Shepherd are best buds. We now have a 5 month old son (Logan) who Vlad adores. He is Logan's protector. Anyone who wants to see the baby must first make sure it's okay with Vlad. We are currently hoping to adopt another dog from this wonderful shelter. I love this shelter and will continue to adopt from here as long as I am able to. Thanks so much to Liz & Maureen - they are awesome!

I just made a donation online after reading the story in Cesar's Way magazine. I have a 'pound puppy' of my own. Her challenge is fear aggression so I try hard to be a good pack leader. Keep up the good work - your story inspired me!

I adopted Jagger, a 7-year-old Lab mix, from Hillside on August 1, 2009. He is such a wonderful dog. He loves to play, go for rides in the car, chase squirrels, and snuggle on the couch. He loves everyone he meets and is very friendly. I want to thank the people at Hillside for their help in picking out Jagger. I told them what our lifestyle was like and what type of dog we were looking for, and they were right on the money with Jagger. I was hesitant about adopting an older dog, but I now know I made the right decision and I would definitely do it again. This is the second dog I adopted from Hillside and I would definitely adopt from there again and again. Thank you for my handsome canine companion. Please consider adopting an older or senior dog, they are just a pure delight to have around.

We love Lucy! She was so shy & sad at the shelter I wasn't sure how long it would take her to adjust. She relaxed a little on the ride home. We gave her a tour of her new home, lots of hugs, kisses & encouragement. After about a 1/2 hour she came to life! She is a friendly, affectionate & well behaved little girl & we just love her. Thank you SPCA for this wonderful addition to our family.

We adopted an adorable little Pomeranian 12/26/09 after we lost our other Pom due to a rare immune deficiency disease. We renamed Bam-Bam Bandit and he is doing very well. We had him neutered right away and although he has some issues we are working with him in hopes that he will become a therapy dog like the one we just lost. Thanks, Hillside SPCA for all your hard work and decication to these animals.

We adopted a little Pomeranian on Dec. 26, 2009 after the sudden death of our beloved Pom, Buddy Bear. Although our new little guy will never replace Buddy Bear, we are hoping he will become a therapy dog and carry on Bear's work.

He is a sweet, gentle little dog and is working out very well.

Thank you, Hillside SPCA, for all the care and love you give these unwanted animals.

a little over a month ago we adopted a puppy named Billy (now Max). From the first day we brought him home it seemed like he has been with us forever. There was no real period of adjustment. Our other dog has taken him under her wing like the puppy she never had. He is a very loving, playful, smart and well behaved dog. We are very lucky to have him as part of our family.

I am originally from Pennsylvania. I moved away over 20 yrs ago. I follow the Hillside SPCA site and have been a guardian angel to two animals. My mother has adopted a dog from the SPCA after she met my two dogs and fell in love with them. I will continue to give contributions to the SPCA because I see where our contributions go. I think you are doing an outstanding service for all animals because you keep their needs, wants, trials and tribulations alive by continually making your efforts known whether through a news letter or your vigilance in your effort to get the word out and keep the need in the forefront of everyone’s mind. Each and every one of you sacrifice so much of your energy, time and personal convictions to the cause I just want you to know that it does not go unnoticed. Thank you for the job you continue to do and I hope all the blessings of what you need for the cause comes your way each and every day for a long time to continue. SMW

We adpoted Libby on 10/24/09. She is such a joy to everyone she meets. She is the most lovable dog I have ever seen. She is so smart and is already totaly housebroken, gives you her both paws, gives kisses and loves to play fetch. When you come in the door, her being part boxer she has that kidney bean backend shake going on and it is so funny to watch her in the act everyday. My 3 year old has the shake down to a tee and they do it together. Thank you so much for blessing us with a wonderful dog.

Just a quick update on Bugsy, we got him from Hillside on Oct. 24,2009. The very day we got him, when we got him home, he acted like he was there for years. He really loves his new pals, Bailey and Rascal. He is a great addition to the family.By the way we kept his name Bugsy, because he already knew it.

In Sep.,'08 we lost our german shepherd and the house was too quiet. So we adopted Guinness (formerly Rudy). What a treat! He is our 3rd dog from Hillside and he is the biggest, most loveable, funniest guy around. He gets along well with our rescued Greyhound and loves anyone and everyone he meets. Thanks so much for all you do. I wish more people would go for shelter dogs. They are the BEST.

About 4 years ago we adopted a bichon frise named smooches. He was brought in from a cruelty case. He was already quite old. We renamed him Trooper. He had lived up to that name. He was there for us no matter what. He was always happiest when he was by ourside. He was a little dog with lots of unconditional love to give. Sadly nov. 3, 2009. We had to put him down. He was on meds for a week and he seemed to recover great, but he had another seizure and was not bouncing back. As weak as he was he periodically looked up to make sure we were still next to him. Even dogs don't want to be alone. He has brought so much laughter and love into our lives over the past four years. Thank you Hillside for bringing our little buddy into our lives.
