I think that Hillside SPCA is a wonderful place to get a pet. My grandmother adopted a toy poodle named Jax from here. He is one of the greatest dogs I have ever seen. I hope that all of get good homes.

My husband and I adopted Ripley (chow/finnish spitz mix) from Hillside in July of 2003. She has brought so much joy to our lives that I don't know what I would do without her. We both love her very much. She is a sweet girl and I swear she smiles when she is happy. She has sleepovers at her grandparents' house two days a week and they look forward to her spending time with them every week. Ripley is a great dog but, I must admit, she is a little spoiled. I would definitely come back to adopt another dog from Hillside. The people there are kind, loving and very helpful. Thanks a lot for giving me my best friend, Ripley.

I adopted Monroe back in January and he is doing wonderful! He recently underwent surgery for a polyp in his nose (which caused him to snort). I expected him to come home from surgery and sleep all night, but instead he played for hours! He is truely wonderful. I can not wait to adopt again!

We Adopted Daisy on Saturday. We had to put our 8.5 year old German shepard Bandit to sleep last week. Our Pug Smokey was lost without his big Buddy. We saw Daisy (lab.retriever mix) on the website and fell in love. We brought Smokey with to see if they would click and Daisy went right to him. Smokey is himself again.Thank you!

We adopted a ferret from you just three days ago, he is doing wonderful. We already have 3 ferrets, so he is adjusting to his new siblings quite well. You were calling him Junior, we named him Sebastian Spirit, he is such a loving little guy, thank you for taking such good care of him until we found him at your shelter.

We came down from Luzerne Co. this week with a "load" for the animals, thanks to Marie at Ceasars Grooming in Plymouth and our pleas for donations on THE PET SHOW,radio show. We had a lot of people come out and give to a great cause. The outpouring was fantastic! We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, courtesy of the volunteers & overall, the great personalities of every animal on the premesis (especially the kitties!!) Thanks for the tour and the opportunity to help out!

I would just like to say thank you to all the people who take care of the animals at Hillside. You are truly wonderful people who have the biggest hearts. Your dedication and compassion are appreciated by people like me who see abuse and neglect on TV so much. I'm glad there is a wonderful place like Hillside that takes in unwanted and abused animals. Thank God for you!

This past week we came to Hillside looking to adopt a cat, sadly there were so many wonderful cats at the shelter, in need of a great home, it took us a couple hours over 2 days spending time with the cats trying to decide. After a few hours on our second day there we had found many that warmed our hearts and many we felt needed a chance at a loving home but we were still unable to decide until we were showed us an 8 year old cat who had to be given up by his owners due to divorce and neither able (or wanting Im not sure) to keep it. He was adopted from the shelter originally 6 years ago only to end up back but this time as an older cat not seeming able to survive in a shelter. Scared and crying Butzy layed in his cage, it took only minutes and we knew Butzy was the cat for us, you could tell just like many other older cats, he would never make it in the shelter after being in a home for so much of his life. Although very very shy at first, gladly he is now our cuddle buddy who seems to know everything is going to be alright.

We adopted Jocco, an 8 year old Alaskan Malmute in May of 2003. He just passed on his own a few days ago and I had his ashes scattered at Lacey Memorial Park. I didn't have the opportunity to have a dog as a child due to renting, and I picked Jocco, I fell in love with him. We took him home and he was the BEST dog anyone could ask for. We only had him 3 years and 5 months but he brought so much joy into our lives and gave me a chance to love a dog. I want to thank everyone at Hillside for letting us adopt such a special dog. He was and always will be loved. May he rest in peace.

Four years ago I adopted Scooter, a little devil of a cat! It took almost a year until he would allow himself to be loved. Now, he is a teddy bear and loves to be loved. He is the greatest and we love him so.

I adopted a Cocker Spaniel in February from Hillside and he is just the sweetest thing ever! I am so glad he came into my life and I can't image my life without him or why the previous owners would give up such a sweet boy. I admire what all of you do there at the shelter and I donate whenever I can.

I would like to thank all of the staff and volunteers at Hillside SPCA for the work that they do on behalf of animals. I am a volunteer with MAGSR, and I have a wonderful rescue dog of my own. He spent an entire year living in a kennel due to severe food aggression, which stemmed from improper treatment by his previous owners. No one wanted this dog. No one ever asked about him.for a whole entire year, he lived in a kennel, waiting for someone to give him a second chance. He's been my boy for two years now, and I could not love this dog any more than I do. The first six months were tough -- I won't lie -- but ultimately, they were worth it. I thank you so profoundly for not giving up on Saydee, on Bucky, on Little Foot, on each and every single one of them. As my Nana used to say, "You'll get your crown in Heaven." Until then -- you'll walk this earth with the praises and gratitude of many, both two and four-footed.

I'd just like to commend all of the people at Hillside for the wonderful things they do to help out the animals that so many people take for granted. Far too many humans lack compassion and a genuine love of animals in the world today its nice that there are people like the folks at Hillside to look out for our furry friends!!!

Well it will be a year in July 2006 that I have had Hunter. He is doing very good and I can't seem to remember a time when he wasn't here. We seem to be a perfect fit! His playmates, my daughters, love playing with him. He gets very excited when he sees them coming home from school, and he loves giving you hugs and kisses. I'm so glad I found him he has become a great addition to the family!
